The monitoring and control of food quality is a very important area
of Food and Beverage Manufacturing all the way from paddock to
plate.
While we now have more variety and shelf-life
longevity, consumers need to be assured that they are buying food products
of a consistently high quality and with safety levels they can rely
on.
In working in food quality, you could be developing
new quality assurance initiatives in a plant, better analytical testing
methods, checking the shelf life of new packaging or liaising with the
Quarantine Service over export requirements.
Your focus will be on the improvement of existing systems and the development
of new quality initiatives. Working in Food Quality, you will gain experience
in risk analysis and management, develop skills in sampling and testing
methods and learn the regulatory aspects of quality control.
